PE and Sports Premium

Our PE and Sport Premium for 2016-17 is £9979

We will spent our 2016-17 funding on:

  • Part-funding our Learning Mentor (Sports) who runs after school clubs and enters teams in Barnet-wide competitions.
  • Employing Sports Coaches to lead highly subsidised after school clubs in order to widen children's access to sports outside of school.
  • Employing Dance Coaches to teach a Gifted and Talented Dance Club for KS2 children after school. This group of children then enter the Barnet Dance Festival each year.
  • Sports equipment.

We also employ Sports / Dance Coaches to teach one or two PE lessons each week to most classes in order to give PPA time to teachers. This is not funded by our Primary Sports Premium allocation.

Impact:

  • Opportunities for children to compete in competitions. Last year, our Year 6 boys' football team won three Barnet-wide competitions, including the Barnet league. Our mixed football team won the Barnet tournament and competed for Barnet in the pan-London games at Crystal Palace. Children also participated in athletics, basketball and many other sports. Our non-selective football team players also had the opportunity to compete.
  • Wider opportunities for children to participate in activity outside of school through after-school clubs. These are run at very low cost, with change in participants each half term. Year groups are varied so that all children have the opportunity.
  • School is well-equipped for sports lessons and lunchtime activities.
